Some of my GMMK keys do not work. What can I do?

When this happens, there are a few things you can try before getting in touch with our support. Here's what you should do:

  • Replace the switches. Let's say you have 1-2 keys that do not work. Remove a few switches from keys that work and insert them into the non-working sockets. If this solves the issue, we can conclude that you are dealing with defective switches.

If you end up needing a few extra switches, don't forget to check our switch sample pack out as it comes with 6 Gateron and 8 Kailh switches (one switch per color). You even get some O-rings for extra testing purposes.

  • Restore the keyboard to factory default settings.

    1. For full-size and TKL GMMK: Press FN + ESC, and then press F1 + F3 + F5. If you're successful, you will see a snake-like RGB pattern. Check to see if the keys work now.

    2. For compact GMMK: Hold Fn + R for 10 seconds. If you're successful, you will see a snake-like RGB pattern. Check to see if the keys work now.

Tried all steps, but nothing seems to work? Please send us a message and don't worry. We are here to assist you in the best way possible.
