Cleaning the Keyboard
Step 1: Remove keycaps with the keycap puller.
Step 2: Remove the switches using the switch puller
Step 3: The outer edges and bottom of the keyboard may be wiped with the microfiber cloth.
Step 4: Using the brush, agitate and brush the dirt or debris from the switch plate and PCB.
Step 5: Using the blower, blow air over the switch plate to clean away loose dirt and debris.
Step 6: Wipe the surface of the switch plate with the microfiber cloth to clear any additional dust or contaminants.
Step 7: For deeper cleaning, use a small amount of 70% isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.
Saturate the end of the cotton swab with the alcohol.
Step 8: Working in small sections, apply the alcohol to the switch plate surface, scrubbing gently to loosen any dirt or contaminants.
- Wipe away any loosened dirt or excess alcohol with the microfiber towel.
- Change cotton swabs as needed to enhance cleaning effectiveness.
Step 9: Clean around the switch ports using the same gentle scrubbing method.
The surface of the PCB may be cleaned in this manner as well.
Step 10: Reassemble the Keyboard
NOTE: Allow any trace amounts of alcohol to evaporate completely before reassembly.
